“I have been intrigued by this subtle form of retraining the nervous system, which I recommend to patients whose movement has been restricted by injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, fibromyalgia, or chronic pain. I find it to be much more useful than standard physical therapy. I also believe that the Feldenkrais Method® can help older people achieve greater range of motion and flexibility, and help all of us feel more comfortable in our bodies.”
— Andrew Weil,M.D. Author of Spontaneous Healing and Natural Health, Natural Medicine

The Feldenkrais Method® is a sophisticated form of movement re-education appropriate for people of all ages and abilities that want to improve the way they move, think, and feel. It is an educational system, which uses movement, guided attention, and gentle touch to bring about improved functioning and quality of life. This is accomplished by teaching people to become aware of their habitual patterns of movement and guiding them in the discovery of additional possibilities in order to move more easily, efficiently, and pleasurably.

The Feldenkrais Method has a broad range of applications, from rehabilitation and injury prevention to artistic and athletic training. It has been proven to reveal and alter habitual behaviors responsible for chronic tension and pain. It helps in the recovery of movement diminished by injury, trauma and neurological disorders. It is a highly effective way to improve skills for Athletes, Dancers, Singers, and Musicians. Because the Feldenkrais Method focuses on the relationship between movement and thought, increased mental capabilities and creativity accompany physical improvements.

The purpose of the method is to assist people in living more joyful, comfortable and effective lives by expanding their repertoire of what is possible.

The Feldenkrais Method improves the functional capacity of the entire human organism. It can be experienced in two ways: Functional Integration®, (FI) private sessions and AwarenessThroughMovement®, (ATM) group classes/workshops.

The terms Feldenkrais®, Functional Integration®, Awareness Through Movement® and the Feldenkrais Method® are registered service marks. Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitionercm is a certification mark of the Feldenkrais Guild® of North America.
