Awareness Through Movement® classes is one of two avenues for experiencing the Feldenkrais Method®. These classes consist of verbally directed movement sequences presented primarily to groups. They are precisely structured movement explorations that involve thinking, sensing, moving and imagining. They are centered around specific human functioning such as reaching, bending, turning, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, computing, commuting, breathing……………

There are hundreds of Awareness Through Movement lessons contained in this method that vary in complexity from very simple to challenging. A goal of Awareness Through Movement as well as Functional Integration® is to learn to perform basic functions in a more optimal way. By experiencing the details of how one performs any action one can eliminate unnecessary energy expenditure and improve overall functioning.

Regardless of which learning style you choose, group classes or private sessions, the Feldenkrais Method can help you overcome limitations brought on by stress, misuse, accident, illness, or inadequate movement education.
